If you are looking for the best HDFC credit card or if you are already an HDFC credit card user and looking to upgrade, you must have come across two very popular cards- HDFC Regalia and HDFC Diners Club Privilege. But which of the two is better for you? Given that both credit cards target the premium segment of customers and offer almost similar reward rate and features, the confusion is quite valid. However, there are a few differences which will help you make the right choice.

As seen from the comparison above both these credit cards, HDFC Regalia and Diners Privilege, have the nearly same set of features and benefits. That’s not all, even if you compare the reward structure, both these cards end up giving an effective reward rate of 1.33% (4 reward points per Rs. 150 spent. However, these cards show little difference in the manner in which one avails the other benefits.
In the case of HDFC Regalia, benefits are mainly offered in the form of reward points and most of them are earned on achieving milestone spends. However, with Diners Privilege, you will get benefits in the form of monthly vouchers and annual memberships (Monthly vouchers are dependent on achieving monthly spend of Rs. 40,000).
At annual spends of Rs. 5 lakh, benefits with Diners Privilege Card are significantly higher. However, at annual spends of Rs. 8 Lakh, both HDFC Regalia and Diners Privilege provide nearly the same benefits.
It is clear from the above comparison table that Diners Club Privilege has a little edge over Regalia in terms of features and rewards. Extra 10X rewards with partners, monthly milestone benefits and annual membership advantage push the card a little higher in rank. . Access to complimentary Golf games twice per quarter will also entice Golf lovers.
On the other hand, Diners Club Cards may not be accepted at every POS while Visa/Mastercard are easily accepted by all. So, if you plan on using the card mainly for retail spends, Regalia could be a better option.
