Steps to Apply for Aadhaar Card without Documents
If you do not have Aadhaar card and want to apply for it even if you do not have document proof for authenticating identity and residence, you can take the help of an introducer authorized by UIDAI to apply for Aadhaar card without documents. Follow the steps mentioned below:
- Visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre in your area
- Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form mentioning all details correctly
- Get the form authenticated by an introducer who is identified and notified by the Registrar or Aadhaar regional offices
- Submit the form to the Aadhaar executive
- Provide your biometric data such as fingerprint, iris scan and photograph
- An acknowledgement slip is generated containing the enrolment number which can be used to check Aadhaar card status
- Your Aadhaar card will be sent through post to the address mentioned in the Aadhaar card within 90 days of Aadhaar enrolment
Aadhaar Introducers
An Aadhaar introducer is an individual identified and notified either by the registrar or the regional office of UIDAI. The details of the introducer including his basic details, residential address and Aadhaar data are registered in UIDAI’s CIDR (Central Identities Data Repository).
The introducer’s primary task is to introduce a person to UIDAI at the time of Aadhaar enrolment who do not have any proof of identity (POI) or proof of address (POA). An introducer works under a registrar who has appointed him. The role of an introducer is limited to only that region for which he has been appointed by the registrar. In case other registrars also notify the same introducer, he can introduce individuals in other approved regions as well.
Eligibility to become an Aadhaar Introducer
A person can become an introducer for UIDAI if he fulfils the following requirements:
- He should be at least 18 years of age
- He should not have any criminal record
- He has to share his Aadhaar number and details to UIDAI’s registrar
- He can be a registrar’s employee, member of a local body, elected representative of the local body, postman, teacher, doctor, ASHA worker, etc.
- A representative of a local NGO can also apply to become the introducer for UIDAI
Responsibilities of an Introducer
- The introducer should help an individual apply for Aadhaar card without documents
- The introducer should ensure that the information provided in the enrolment form of the applicant is correct
- He should be easily accessible to the residents
- He should check his own details as well in the form
- The introducer should approve the enrolment application if he finds the details mentioned in the form to be correct
- He should introduce only those residents who do not have any proof of residence or identity
- He cannot charge a fee from people for introducing them at the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
- The registrar can prescribe a payment for this activity
Liabilities of an Introducer
An introducer has the task of introducing the individuals to the UIDAI. His liabilities are mentioned below:
- He should not conspire to introduce someone who impersonates others (dead or alive) during enrolment
- He should not help anybody to take the identity of anybody else deliberately
- He should not plan to provide false biometric data of the applicant
- If found involved, strict action would be taken against the introducer
