These ASKs have special provisions for the elderly and specially-abled as well. Steps to Book an Online Appointment for Aadhaar Services
As per the updated online appointment booking facility, one can provide all details beforehand and expedite the process of Aadhaar update at the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. Here is a step-by-step guide to book an appointment for Aadhaar-related services online:
Step 1: On the UIDAI website, click on “Book an Appointment (Beta)” listed under the My Aadhaar tab.
Step 2: Choose if you want to book an appointment at an UIDAI-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra or Registrar-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra
- For booking an appointment at anUIDAI-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra, follow the steps given below:
- Select the City/Location and click on “Proceed to Book Appointment”
- Choose the service that you want to avail – Update Aadhaar, enroll for new Aadhaar or manage your appointment
- Enter your mobile number, captcha code that you see on screen and click on “Generate OTP”
- Enter the OTP that you receive on your registered mobile number and click on “Verify OTP”
- After successful authentication of your mobile number, fill in the form with the required details and submit the same. You can also manage your appointment (date and time) by visiting the Manage appointment tab.
- Alternatively, for booking an appointment at a Registrar-run Aadhaar Seva Kendra,follow the steps given below:
- Click on “Proceed to Book an Appointment”
- Select your resident type, that is, whether you are an Indian resident or an NRI
- Choose whether you want to register using your mobile number or email address and enter the same
- Enter the captcha code that you see on your screen and click on“Send OTP” to receive an OTP on your mobile number
- Enter the OTP generated and sent to your mobile number for authentication
- After successful authentication, fill up and submit the appointment booking form
Step 3: Once you book your appointment successfully, an acknowledgement slip is generated
Step 4: Take a print-out of this acknowledgement slip and carry it to the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre.

Charges for Aadhaar Services at ASK
Residents need to pay the charges as defined by UIDAI to avail Aadhaar Services at any Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) of their choice. The charges inclusive of any applicable taxes are as follows:
- Aadhaar Enrolment: Free
- Mandatory Biometric update for kids (at age 5 and 15 years): Free
- Any Biometric update with/without Demographic Update*: Rs.100
- Only Demographic update* by residents: Rs. 50
- Download Aadhaar and Coloured Print: Rs. 30
*Update of more than one field on single instance is considered as one update
The payment can be made either at the Cash Counter available at the ASK or online (to be launched soon) at the time of booking an online appointment via the UIDAI website.
Things to Keep in Mind When Booking an Online Aadhaar Appointment
Here are a few key things that you must consider when booking an online appointment for Aadhaar enrolment or update:
- Residents can book an appointment for themselves or their family members from the UIDAI online appointment booking page
- There are no charges to book an appointment and the resident need not have an Aadhaar-registered mobile number to book an appointment
- A resident can book a maximum of 4 appointments in a month
- You can also walk-in at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) to avail Aadhaar-related services without an appointment. However, booking an appointment online helps you save time and choose a date and time slot as per your convenience.
- There is a limit to the number of times you can make an update/changes to your Aadhaar- Name (2 updates), date of birth (1 update), gender (1 update) and address. Once you exhaust these, you will have to visit a Permanent Enrolment Center to make changes in your Aadhaar.
