Update (6 September 2024): Existing Vistara credit cardholders can continue availing the benefits on their Vistara credit cards as per the existing structure and terms until 31 March 2026.
Axis Vistara Signature Credit Card is a step above the basic variant of Axis Bank’s Vistara co-branded cards. At an annual fee of Rs. 3,000, this card caters to the Premium Economy segment. Users can avail up to 5 complimentary Premium Economy Class tickets in a year as welcome/renewal and milestone benefits. The card features a decent reward rate of 4 CV Points per Rs. 200 across all spends; CV Points can be used to avail free flight tickets or class upgrades through Vistara’s online platform.
From April 2024, cardholders can no longer earn CV Points on Insurance or Gold/ Jewellery spends nor will these transactions be counted towards spend milestone calculation. Since the card offers major savings through milestone benefits, after the exclusion of these categories, it might be difficult for some consumers to achieve the spend thresholds.
Axis Vistara Signature Credit Card also lacks in terms of international travel benefits. Despite being a mid-range card, it does not provide international lounge access. A forex mark-up fee of 3.5% is also quite high for a travel credit card.
Despite these drawbacks and recent devaluations, the card still holds good value for Vistara loyalists, especially those who can hit all the milestones by putting maximum spends on the card. However, in the Premium Economy segment, Club Vistara IDFC First Credit Card could be a better choice for consumers. At a slightly higher annual fee, Club Vistara IDFC FIRST offers a better reward rate, along with rewards on utility, fuel, or rent spends, up to 5 Premium Economy Class tickets as milestone benefits, and international lounge access, making it a better option for Vistara loyalists.
If you are looking for other variants of this card, you can opt for Axis Vistara Credit Card or Axis Vistara Infinite Credit Card.
