If you hold multiple accounts at SBI, you can apply for separate MMID number for each account. You can do so by vising the SBI home branch (branch you hold your bank account) and fill up the application form for mobile banking activation.

Send an SMS by typing ‘MMID SBI’ to 9223440000 from your registered mobile number.
Get MMID through State Bank of India ATM
If you have not activated your mobile banking services, you can get MMID number through ATM also. Here are the simple steps to be followed.
- Swipe your debit card/ATM card
- Click on mobile registration option
- Enter your ATM PIN
- Choose ‘SMS/Secure Code/IMPS’ option on the screen
- Enter your mobile number

- Follow the instruction and choose mobile banking option to proceed
- Pick the required option and get connected to a customer service representative
- Provide your mobile number to the concerned representative
- Validate the details asked by the customer care representative
- Once you validate the details, MMID will be sent to your mobile number via SMS

Retrieval of MMID Number
In case you have forgotten your MMID, here is how you can retrieve it.
a) Retrieve MMID through SMS
Send SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMID SBI account number’ to retrieve the MMID for your particular account.
Send SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMID SBI’ to retrieve MMID number for all your SBI accounts.
b) Retrieve MMID through Customer Care
- Call state bank of India customer care on toll-free number 1800 425 3800
- Choose the mobile banking services option
- Pick the required option and get connected to the customer service representative
- Provide your mobile number to the concerned representative
- Validate the details asked by a customer care representative
- Once the validation is successful, MMID will be sent to your mobile via SMS
c) Retrieve MMID through State Bank of India Freedom App
- Download ‘State Bank freedom’ app
- Once you open the app, click on ‘IMPS-Immediate Payment Services’
- Click on ‘Retrieve MMID’ option

Generation of MMID for Changed Mobile Number
In case you wish to change the mobile number, you need to first deregister/cancel your MMID number and then get it registered fresh again with the new mobile number.
Process of cancellation/deregistration is as below:
- Send an SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMIDCANCEL SBI’ (to deregister it for all accounts with SBI)
- Send an SMS to 9223440000 typing ‘MMIDCANCEL SBI account number (to deregister MMID for mentioned account number only)
- Alternatively, you can cancel it by choosing ‘cancel MMID’ option in your State Bank FreedoM You can also call up SBI’s customer care service on their toll-free number and ask for the cancellation of MMID.
Once you successfully deregister, follow the registration process again to get the MMID for the new mobile number.
Transfer Funds using Interbank Mobile Payment Service
Below steps can be followed to transfer funds using your MMID number for State Bank of India account number via State Bank FreedoM application:
- Open ‘State Bank FreedoM’ app
- Click on ‘IMPS ‘option
- Click on ‘IMPS fund transfer to mobile number’ option
- Select your SBI account number from where the money needs to be debited
- Enter payee mobile number
- Select the bank name of the payee
- Enter MMID number of payee
- Mention the amount to be remitted along with remarks
- Submit the transaction
- Recheck everything once and confirm
