Banks in Kolkata are closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays, all Sundays and regional, public and national holidays. However, you can initiate transactions and avail other banking services anytime- anywhere using the following platforms:

• Internet and Mobile Banking
• Fund transfer using:

– IMPS

– NEFT

– UPI

– RTGS

• Cheque Drop facility at ATM/other Cheque Drop-boxes
• Alternatively, you also can visit the ATM anytime to avail any banking service

 Note: As per RBI, apart from the holidays mentioned above, the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and all Sundays in a month are bank holidays.

Banks in India are closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month. Owing to this, banks remain open on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of every month as regular working days.

In RTGS, the transactions are processed continuously on a one-to-one basis throughout the RTGS business hours and are most used for high-value transactions. The RTGS settlement takes place on all working days. It does not work on following days:

• Sundays
• 2^nd and 4^th Saturdays of the Month
• RTGS Holidays declared by the RBI

NEFT is a fund transfer service wherein the RBI gathers all the money transfer mandates and settles them after every half an hour. Hence NEFT settlement does not happen instantly but in batches. As per the RBI, NEFT is available 24*7, 365 days a year. Hence one can carry out NEFT anytime anywhere.
