Punjab National Bank brings state of the art technology to make transactions as convenient for account holders as possible. To help customers transfer funds faster and on the go, PNB also provides Immediate Payment Service or IMPS. These are real time transactions that help you transfer funds to the beneficiary in less than 30 minutes. But, the bank levies IMPS charges PNB on all the IMPS transactions initiated by the account holder.
What is IMPS?
IMPS or Immediate Payment Service is the fastest fund transfer option available. IMPS transfer can be made using mobile banking or internet banking facilities. Each registered PNB mobile application user will receive a unique 7 digit code called the Mobile Money Identifier or MMID for each account. This includes the unique code for the bank offering this service in the first four digits. This allows you to make transfers to beneficiaries having an MMID safely and with minimal error.
You can get your MMID when you download the PNB mobile banking app, from an ATM or from the nearest PNB branch.

What are the PNB IMPS Charges?
The current IMPS Charges PNB are Rs.5 per transaction. However, you can check any updated information on the service charges at Punjab National Bank on www.pnbindia.com. GST is applicable on all the charges levied on the IMPS services offered by PNB.
What beneficiary details are needed to make IMPS transfer online?
In order to transfer funds using IMPS services, you have two options
- MMID based transfer: This requires the Name of the Beneficiary, MMID of the Beneficiary and Registered Mobile Number of the Beneficiary.
- IFSC based transfer: This requires the Account Number of the Beneficiary, the IFSC Code of the Beneficiary Branch, Name of the beneficiary.
What are the features of PNB IMPS Services?
IMPS services are ideal for people who are on the go and rely on online payment methods. There are several features and benefits of this service such as:
- Real time transactions that are reflected in the account of the beneficiary within half an hour.

- Convenient payment method that requires you to log in to your PNB mobile banking app or your online PNB account, register beneficiary details, enter the amount that you wish your transfer and complete the transaction.

- Minimum error transaction option as you can use the MMID and the mobile number of the beneficiary.
- The beneficiary and the remitter will receive a transaction confirmation notification via SMS along with a transaction reference number in order to track the status of the transaction.
PNB IMPS Limit
With IMPS, you can transfer up to Rs.50000 each day as per the guidelines of Punjab National Bank. You also have the option of making transfers through SMS or NUUT. In these cases, the limit per day is Rs.5000. If you make any transactions using an ATM, the transaction limit per day is Rs.10000.
