Canara Bank Debit Card

You can apply online as well as offline for a Canara Debit Card. To apply offline, you need to visit the nearest branch and fill out the application form by entering the required details. You also need to submit relevant documents along with the application form to apply for a debit card. After submitting all the documents, the bank will verify your application and approve your request. Once approved, the bank will dispatch your debit card to the address written in the application form.

Step 1: Visit the official website of the bank.

Step 2: Click on ‘Apply for a New Debit Card’ from the menu available on the right corner.

Step 3: Enter your account number and PAN to proceed with the application.

Step 4: After this, you need to enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Now, select the debit card you want to apply for and fill out the details, and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 6: Once submitted, the card request will be placed and the bank will dispatch your card after a successful verification.

You can activate your Canara Bank Debit Card by calling on the customer care number. Follow the below-mentioned steps to do the same:

Step 1: Call on the customer care number and select the ‘Debit Card’ option.

Step 2: Next, select the ‘ATM PIN’ option to activate your debit card.

Step 3: Enter your account number, card number, date of birth and expiry date of your card as per the format suggested by IVR.

Step 4: Now, you will be asked to enter a new ATM PIN, enter the PIN you want to set for future transactions.

Step 5: After a successful activation, you will receive a confirmation message from the bank.

Apart from this, you can also activate your debit card offline by using the ATM PIN you have received along with your welcome kit. You need to visit the nearest ATM and enter the ATM PIN. After entering the PIN, you will be asked to change your PIN, enter the new PIN to activate your debit card.

Eligibility:

• Canara Bank account holders must have an average quarterly balance of Rs. 1 lakh and above in their savings account or current account
• Existing Canara Bank debit cardholders who have registered purchase transactions of Rs. 50,000 and above during a year are also eligible for the same
• Power Plus account holders are also eligible for Canara Bank Platinum Debit Card

• It comes with a cash withdrawal limit of Rs. 50,000 per day

Canara Campus Debit Card

Canara Campus Debit Card caters to the needs of students. This debit card is issued to the students of the college/ institution, which has tied up with Canara Bank for this scheme. Here are all the details of this debit card:

Eligibility:

• Any student of at least 13 years of age enrolled in an institution that has tied up with Canara Bank for this scheme is eligible for Canara Campus Card
• The student must have an account with the bank to apply for this debit card
• Joint accounts are not eligible for this scheme

Features & Benefits:

• This debit card also acts as an identity card with the benefits of a normal debit card as it contains a photo of the cardholder on the front side
• Canara Campus Card provides various facilities to the account holders like mobile recharge, internet facility & more
• Students can also pay fees to the institution with this card
• Students can also avail other facilities like hotlisting the card, issuance of a replacement card, etc.
• This card is valid till the completion of the course pursued by the students, after which a normal debit card may be issued to the student

Q. How can I regenerate my Canara Bank Debit Card Green PIN?

A. You can regenerate your Green PIN by visiting any of the nearest Canara Bank ATMs. All you need to do is insert your card into the machine and select the “Green PIN/ Forgot PIN” option. Now, you need to click on the ‘Generate OTP’ option and enter your account number and registered mobile number. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and generate your PIN successfully.

Q. How can I block my Canara Bank Debit Card?

A. You can block your debit card by sending a message from your registered mobile number. You need to send (CAN “{space}” HOTLISTDC “{space}” CARD NUMBER (16 digits) to 5607060. Apart from this, you can also call on the Canara Bank customer care number and ask the representative to block your credit card. Once the card gets blocked, you will receive a confirmation message.

A. No, there are no charges levied by the bank for PIN generation. However, if you regenerate your Green PIN, then the bank will charge a fee of Rs. 50 for the same.

A. Yes, you can apply for a debit card if you have a joint account. In such a case, the debit card is issued to 2 signatories with operation conditions jointly. Both the cardholders will receive a separate PIN for withdrawing cash through ATMs. However, such cards are issued only on a special request of the account holder.

A. You should inform the bank as soon as you notice the loss of your debit card. All you need to do is call customer care and inform them about the situation. The representative will block your card immediately to protect you from any fraudulent transaction.
