Maruti Suzuki has recently launched a new face-lifted version of the iconic Swift and named it Swift Deca limited edition. It is available in both petrol and diesel versions. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift ‘Deca’ ZXI (top model) has been priced at Rs. 5.94 lakhs while the Maruti Suzuki Swift ‘Deca’ VDi (diesel) is priced at Rs. 6.86 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Swift Deca by saying it is a tribute to football. The company said that the new model celebrates the spirit of the sport of football and the best players of the game.
The doors and wheel covers of the Maruti Suzuki Swift Deca sport the number 10 decals. The number 10 is given usually to the best player on the team or the best player in midfield. Since the Swift is one of the most popular models and brand of the company, the car has been given the number 10. The new limited edition when compared to its normal sibling costs Rs. 22,000 more (Swift VXi-O) while the diesel version costs nearly Rs. 30,000 more than the regular one (Swift VDi-O).
The limited edition comes with a lot of cosmetic and additional features. On the interior, the new car gets a touch-screen infotainment system with Bluetooth and door mounted speakers that come from Sony. A reverse camera with parking sensors also has been added for safety purposes. Along with these, the limited edition Deca gets new red and black themed interiors which include the steering cover, seat covers, and front armrest along with red ambient lighting.
The only parts of the Swift Deca limited edition that are unchanged are the existing engines. The 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and the diesel 1.3-litre DDiS versions that power the regular swift get no mechanical tweaks or changes. The petrol version still churns out 84 hp at 115Nm of torque while the diesel version powers the car with 75 hp at 190Nm of torque. The two colors offered by the company are – Bright Red and Pearl White.
The next-generation Swift, which is in the making, is expected to come to India by late 2017. The new Swift will be powered by the company’s newly developed 1.0-litre turbocharged BoosterJet petrol engine. The new BoosterJet will soon be seen in the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. The next-generation Swift will carry some design cues from the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
