The German luxury car making firm, Mercedes Benz, has finally launched the much speculated luxury car, SUV GLC. This product has become the sixth SUV in the company’s portfolio in India and has been designed to compete with Audi Q5 and BMW X3.
The model has been launched in both the variants, petrol and diesel. The GLC 220d, powered by a 2143 cc diesel engine, has been marked at Rs 50.7 lakh, while the GLC 300 driven by a 1991 cc petrol engine is tagged at Rs 50.9 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Pune). The car measures 4,656 mm in length, 1,644 mm in height and 2,096 mm in width. It is based on the C class sedan having LED headlamps and a wheelbase of 2,874 mm.
The GLC 220d powered by a diesel engine takes a leap from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds while the GLC 300 based on petrol reaches the speed of 100 kmph in 6.5 seconds. The former achieves its top speed of 210 kmph while the maximum speed of the latter is achieved at 222 kmph.
This product is imported to India as a completely built unit and is expected to witness a modest growth in its sale in NCR. With its decent features and fuel efficiency, the model having a relatively reasonable price range in the high-priced segment, is predicted to witness a steady growth and do well in the country.
