The leading private sector bank, Axis Bank, completed the acquisition of Citibank’s consumer businesses in India, with effect from March 1, 2023. However, there will be no changes in the fixed deposit account for existing depositors who choose the auto-renewal facility. Axis Bank offers an additional senior citizen FD interest rate (75 bps) on regular FD interest rates. The bank also offers a Digital Fixed Deposit product wherein depositors can open FD without opening an Axis Bank savings account.
