In spite using your credit card responsibly, you might end up making a mistake by ordering the wrong item or you can purchase something that turned out to be different. Keeping this in mind, you should always be able to apply for a credit card refund regardless of the benefits. It is a process under which your account gets credited back for the purchased amount. Hi,
My issue is I ordered a TV from Flipkart in March and paid 20000 Rs using my frnd’s relative SBI CREDIT CARD but due to lockdown after 2 months of waiting they cancelled my order and initiated my refund saying that it will be credited by 5th of June ….but my frnd’s relative is saying that he hasn’t received any refund yet and also saying that after 1 month from the date of order deducted amount was reflecting on his card. So I this is the case, I don’t know whom to approach.. plz help me….is there any way to know about my refund whether it is completed from the bank side or not.
Hi Mala,
The cardholder should speak to SBI Card Customer Care to know the refund status. You must share the ‘Refund Reference Number’ provided by Flipkart with the cardholder, as the customer support executive would ask the same to track the refund status.
Hi, I have purchased a phone from Flipkart Online through HDFC No Cost EMI and but after 2 hours i have cancelled the product due to some reason(product is purchase in non banking hours). When i cancelled my total amount credited in my credit card. But when i saw the statement credit card apply EMI Processing Fee and GST amount for the same transaction. No my question is can i get back GST amount and Processing Fee. If yes then what is process.
Hi Praveen,
Banks usually do not refund the processing fee and GST in case of order cancellation. You should speak to HDFC Credit Card Customer Care to get more clarity on this.
Guys I need help , I purchased some item from flipkart in march month using sbicard ,and due to lockdown it took 2 month to process. But one day flipkart suddenly cancel my order after 60 days and flipkart refunded full amount debited from credit card back to card. Meanwhile i already paid 2 emi for this purchase with interest rates,
So my question is “Will sbicard refund me amount which i paid as emi’s (refund with interest rates charged by bank) or there will be deduction from bank?”
Thanks in advance..
Hi Jitendra,
Credit balance refund may be possible if you meet SBI Card’s terms and conditions for the same. Even if you do get the extra credit refunded, the interest already paid will not be reversed. You should speak to their customer support to get better clarity on this.
Hi, I had taken policy through No Emi . Star health org made some conditions so I did not agree accordingly. So policy cancelled and merchant refunded my amount to my credit card account. But , in credit card statement it is still showing active EMI and deducting the amounts as per EMI. Kindly advice how to go about
Hi Sukhvinder,
It is possible that by the time you cancelled the transaction, the EMI was already created. When the amount is refunded, EMIs do not get automatically cancelled and they will keep showing in your statement. You should speak to the customer care department of the issuing bank/NBFC to request an EMI cancellation.
I ordered some product from amazon and paid by sbi credit card. But for some reason i cancelled my order. Today i got a message regarding my refund that it has been issued, so i want to know where will the money come in my original account or My sbi cr card balance?? It was 13,149 before the refund, now current outstanding is same as before..
Hi Mukul,
From what it seems, your refund was initiated but it has not yet been credited into your card. It usually takes 5-7 business days for a refund to get credited. You can wait for a few days or call SBI Card Customer Care on 1860 180 1290 to get more clarity on this refund issue.
Once cleared, the amount will be added to your credit card (the original payment source).
