Joining Fee and Annual Fee
HDFC Infinia comes with a joining fee of Rs.10,000. This fee is compensated with the welcome bonus of 10,000 reward points credited after the payment realisation.
Besides, the annual fee of Rs.10,000 can be waived off if you spend 8 lakhs or more in the preceding 12 months. This may not be a very helpful feature for those who cannot spend 8 lakhs or more in one year. You can still benefit from 10,000 renewal bonus reward points which are credited only after the membership fee is realized, not applicable when the fee is waived off.
Considering all the features and benefits of this credit card in mind, we can say that the annual fee is justified.
Should you get this credit card?
It should be noted that HDFC Infinia is an invite-only credit card. This means that you can be eligible for this credit card only based on your past credit history amongst other factors, which the bank looks into.
HDFC Infinia is a premium credit card with an array of excellent features. Its joining and the annual fee are definitely on the higher side. But, these numbers are compensated by the premium features like bonus reward points, unlimited lounge access, 3.3% default rewards rate, dine out membership, and more.
If you are invited to get this credit card, you should definitely go for it. This card would quickly repay you, several times the annual amount paid. However, if you are unable to get Infinia, try Diners Club Black instead. In some ways, after the recent upgrades, it’s now better than Infinia. You can also look into HDFC Regalia Credit Card.
Drawbacks of HDFC Infinia Credit Card
Honestly, this card has all the good features one can expect at this cost. However, there is just one drawback and that is no monthly/annual milestone rewards. HDFC has even introduced spend-based rewards on HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card. But, Infinia still awaits this feature.
