Why You Should Get this Card?
You should get this card if:
You are a Big Spender
Since this card offers unlimited cashback on all kinds of spends, it is best suited for those who put most of their expenses on credit cards. So, if you are looking for a credit card just for the purpose of improving your credit utilization ratio or for keeping extra credit limit for an emergency, this card may not be the right choice as it also attracts an annual fee of Rs. 750.
You love Online Shopping
If you like to shop online often, you should get this card as it will earn you 1.5% cashback. The bigger spending you make, the more cashback you will get. Needless to say, you should compare the ongoing offers before shopping online to get the best deal.
HSBC Bank offers top credit cards in different categories, compare best HSBC credits cards online and find the right card for you. |
Bottom Line
HSBC Cashback Credit Card offers unlimited 1.5% cashback on online purchases and 1% cashback on all other purchases. Hence, the bigger your spending, the bigger cashback you can fetch. This works very well for those who like to shop online but do not want to be limited to a particular website. Since the card rewards you for ‘online’ expenses, it covers almost all the popular categories such as travel, food, shopping, lifestyle, etc. as long as you pay for them online. 1% flat cashback on offline expenses is also a good deal but not a great one as other cards like Axis Ace and Flipkart Axis which give you better rates at lower annual fee.

I need a all time use credit card for daily use like petrol, groceries , shoppings and medical bills.
I want a zero maintenance card.
Please recommend
Hi Basharat,
There are only a few zero annual fee cards in the market and you may not find all-round benefits on them. However, there are cards that charge annual fee but the value of their benefits surpass the fee by a wide margin. Such a card could also be a good option for you. Here are a few zero fee and low-fee cards you can consider.
1. Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card (Annual Fee: Nil)
2. SBI SimplyCLICK/SimplySAVE Credit Card (Annual Fee: Rs. 499)
3. HDFC IndianOil Credit Card (Annual Fee: Rs. 500)
4. HSBC Cashback Credit Card (Annual Fee: 750)
5. Standard Chartered Super Value Titanium Credit Card(Annual Fee: Rs. 750)
hi Rupanshi
I have early spends of above 25 lakhs of which about 5 to 8 lakhs are domestic spends like insurance and above 18 lakhs in international sites charging in Euros for various fees.Right now I have SBI Elite and HDFC Regalia both with Foreign currency FCY mark up of 2%.I am looking for cards with maximum cash back towards outstanding card payment (1st preference) then followed by those with air miles or good reward points redemption like HDFC Infinia. The card must be with Zero or upto 2% FCY. I would like to upgrade Regalia plus global value program as above 8L spends there are no bonus reward points .SBI Elite has bonus till 8 Lakhs and annual fee waiver after 10 L spends.
Please advise a better option or combination for me including Forex cards & credit cards.
I have short listed HDFC Insignia / DCB (2% FCY) , Axis reserve (1.5% FCY) , RBL World Safari (0% FCY)
I checked with banks for Axis Burgundy Privilege & SC Ultimate but said its difficult to get.(I have SC Manhatten too but not using it much and Axis Burgundy debit card)
Hi Sandeep,
HDFC Diners Club Black would be a better card for you as it meets two of your requirements- low forex mark-up and air miles/rewards (1 Reward = 1 Airmile). Moreover, the finance charges are also comparatively low at 1.99%. Also, since you spend over Rs. 18 Lakh in foreign currency, you should get RBL World Safari Card as well. The savings on Forex mark-up fee will be significant. A combination of these two cards should meet most of your needs.
We would like to understand more about your cashback requirement in order to suggest a card in this category.
