PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been specifically launched to provide financial support to the farmers in India. This will ensure that the farmers are not trapped by the loan sharks or money lenders who charge high interest rates. The benefits of this scheme are:

• Low-Income farmers get Rs. 6,000 annually; Rs. 2,000 every three months till the full amount is disbursed
• The amount is transferred directly into the farmer’s bank account
• Users can manage their account with the help of the PMKISAN GoI App

All farmers who do not meet the below given exclusion criteria can get to avail the benefits of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi initiative:

• Institutional land holders are not eligible
• Farmer families where even one member is in any of the categories given below:
  • People who held or are holding constitutional posts
  • People who were or are Ministers, State Ministers, members of Lok/Rajya Sabha, state legislative assemblies/Councils, Mayors of Municipal Corporations or Chairpersons of District Panchayats
  • People who have retired and have or haven’t invested in a superannuation scheme that provides a monthly pension of Rs. 10,000 or more. (Excluding Multi-Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees)
  • People who paid income tax in last assessment year
  • People who are registered with professional bodies & carry out the profession by undertaking practises associated with being a doctor, engineer, lawyer, chartered accountant or architect

Farmers who find that their name is not included in the list of beneficiaries can use any one of the below given methods to change it.

New Farmer Registration

Customer can register themselves via the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi website. To do this follow the below-given steps:

• Click here to go to the New Farmer Registration Page at PM Kisan Samman Nidhi website
• Enter the Aadhaar number and the Image Code and then click on ‘Click here to Continue’
• On being prompted by a dialog box asking “Record not found with given details. Do you want to register on PM-Kisan Portal ?” click on Yes
• Fill out the detailed Form along with all the banking details and save
• Follow the onscreen instructions to continue the registration process

Visiting District Level Grievance Redressal Monitoring Committee

Customers can visit the District level grievance redressal monitoring committee to register themselves.

PM Kisan Samman Yojana allows users to check the status of the payment of their instalments. The steps are:

• Go to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Beneficiary status page
• Provide any one of the following details and click on ‘Get Data’
  • Aadhar Number
  • Account Number registered with the site
  • Registered Mobile Number

The status will be displayed on the screen

Beneficiaries of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi can also avail financial support under the Kisan Credit Card scheme.

How can one know if his/her name has been included in the list of beneficiaries?
There are three ways via which a person can know whether or not their name has been included in the list of beneficiaries. These are:

• List of names will be displayed by Panchayats
• System generated SMSs will be sent by State or Union Territory’s government
• Name can be found at Farmers Corner in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi portal or by clicking here

What documents must be submitted on PM-KISAN portal to avail the benefits?
The following information must be furnished:

• Name
• Age
• Gender
• Category (SC/ST)
• Bank Account Number and IFSC Code
• Mobile number
• Aadhar number (Alternate documents will be allowed till 31 March for Assam, Meghalaya and J&K)

Can Tenant farmers, people who cultivate land that is not in their name, receive the benefits?
No, the money is given only to people who own the land.

What will happen if someone gave incorrect information to receive the benefits under the scheme?
The beneficiary will be held liable and made to pay back the amount and suffer other penal actions as well.

Does size of land holding affect my chances of availing this scheme?
No, size of land holding will not affect the chances of availing benefits under this scheme as long as other criteria are met.

3rd Tranche of the economic stimulus package announced

15th May 2020 In the 3rd Tranche of economic stimulus package during COVID-19 lockdown, the government has announced several measures for the benefit of farmers including those in fishing and animal husbandry. During Lockdown, the government made Minimum Support Price (MSP) purchases of Rs. 74,300. PM Kisan fund transfer of Rs. 18,700 crore and PM Fasal Bima Yojana claim payment of Rs. 6,400 crore has been made. Some of the important announcements are listed below:For Fisheries Registration of 242 registered Shrimp hatcheries and Naupali Rearing Hatcheries expiring on 31/03/2020 extended for 3 months Operations of Marine Capture Fisheries & Aquaculture relaxed to cover Inland Fisheries Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) has been established. It will receive 20,000 crores for fishermen’s benefit Employment for 55 lakh people via PMMSY The validity of Sanitary Import Permits (SIPs) for Shrimp broodstock expiring on 31/03/2020 extended by 3 months Condoned delay up to 1 month has been established in the arrival of broodstock consignments For Animal Husbandry National Animal Disease Control Programme launched. It has an outlay of Rs. 13,343 crores and will provide vaccination and other medical services for cattle, buffalo, pig, etc. Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund has been established. It has an outlay of Rs. 15,000 crore. Beekeeping Initiative will receive Rs 500 crore For Cultivation Promotion of Herbal Cultivation will receive Rs. 4,000 crore Operation Greens, which was for just Tomato, Onion & Potato (TOP), will be extended to all fruits and vegetable. The operation will receive Rs. 500 crore Amendments to the Essential Commodities Act has been made to enable better price realization for farmers Agriculture Produce Price & Quality Assurance will be provided

New Measures taken by Government for Kisan Credit Card Scheme

14th May 2020 Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in the second part of economic stimulus package, has promised the below given measures for farmers.Concessional Credit Rate – The government of India will extend 2 lakh crore of credit on a concessional rate to farmers. This will ensure that farming activities are not hampered amidst the pandemic.Extension of KCC to 2.5 crore Farmers – Currently, out of the 9 crore farmers enrolled in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 2.5 crore farmers don’t have Kisan Credit Cards. The government will contact these farmers to extend them KCC. Through KCC they can avail concessional credit and other benefits.
