CIBIL score is one of the essential factors that helps in determining the approval or denial of your credit application. While a good credit score can make it relatively easier for you to get a credit card or loan, a poor CIBIL score can be a major hindrance for those who are urgently looking for credit.
A good credit score can also help in getting loans at relatively lower rates of interest and credit cards with extra benefits. Most lenders do not approve credit applications of applicants having a poor credit score (600 or below). Even if a loan application is approved, the applicant has to pay the interest at a higher rate.
If you have a poor CIBIL score and want to improve it to become creditworthy then you should follow some points diligently.

I don t have any loan or credit card now. How to improve CIBIL score?
If you have a low CIBIL score and want to improve it, you can opt for a secured credit card that is offered against a fixed deposit. CIBIL Score is not considered while approving these cards. You can use it diligently without making any default. Your credit score may start improving gradually.
मेरा सिबिल स्कोर बहुत कम है कैसे बढाए
You can follow some of these measures immediately to grow your credit score gradually:
1. Pay all dues on time and don’t miss due dates
2. Do not make multiple fresh credit enquiries
3. Check your credit report to see if there are any errors in it. If present, get those errors rectified
4. Do not close old active credit card accounts
5. Get a secured credit card and make timely repayments
Your credit score will not improve overnight. It is a time-taking process and you have to be patient and disciplined with your credit products to start rebuilding it.

Hi Avinash, you can report this error to CIBIL by providing error details being reflected in your credit report. Normally, it takes up to 1 month for the bureau to get errors rectified but it can take more time in some cases.
Sir
As per my Credit Report, my Credit Score is 648.
The report says there is an outstanding amount of Rs.7,785/- in my Phoenix ARC Credit Card xxxxx8621 (used by me long back, say about 2002), overdue by 900 days.
Since the credit card pertains to old period, I do not have the details of the said credit card in my records .
I want to settle the overdue amount fully and close the account and improve my credit score.
Please advise how to resolve the issue.
Regards
It is suggested to clear the dues and get an NOC from the credit card provider. The NOC needs to be submitted to the credit bureau after which the details in the credit report would get rectified by the bureau.
I have made settlement of my credit card at the time covid due to financial issues. And due to that my civil score get down. Now i am not able to get any credit card etc. May i know i can be eligible for the same or how i can increase my cibil score.
Settlements usually stay on your credit report for a long time. To start improving your score, you can get a secured credit card against a Fixed Deposit. By using the card responsibly and paying your bills on time every month, you can see gradual improvement in your score.
