Cashback Benefits

This card provides an additional 5% cashback on booking IRCTC train tickets using HDFC Bank SmartBuy.

For instance, if you buy a ticket of Rs. 3,000, you will earn 5% cashback of Rs. 150 in addition to 150 reward points (5 points per Rs. 100). So, in total you can get benefits of up to Rs. 300 in total as 1 reward point is equivalent to Re. 1.

Lounge Access

Milestone Benefits

You get a gift voucher worth Rs. 500 on reaching the retail spending milestone of Rs. 30,000 every quarter or every 90 days.

  • IRCTC Transaction Charge Waiver: 1% transaction charges are waived off on IRCTC website and app. The waiver is capped at Rs. 1,000 in every statement cycle.
  • Fuel Surcharge Waiver: 1% fuel surcharge is waived off on transactions between Rs. 400 and Rs. 5,000. This waiver is capped at Rs. 250 in every statement cycle.

Should You Apply for IRCTC HDFC Bank Credit Card?

IRCTC HDFC credit card comes at a low annual fee of Rs. 500 with a decent travel rewards program. You get 5 reward points combined with an additional 5% cashback on all IRCTC spends. This credit card also offers 8 IRCTC lounge access annually. However, there are minimal benefits on all the non-IRCTC spends, like, shopping, groceries, bills, and more with only 1 reward point on every Rs. 100 spent. Therefore, HDFC IRCTC card is suitable for you only if you are a frequent train traveller as even the milestone gift voucher is offered only if you spend at least Rs. 30,000 in 90 days. If you wish to get better overall rewards, then you should probably look out for other cards.
