Apollo Hospitals was the first in India to start the concept of Preventive Health Checks in 1987. It claims to be the largest provider of cardiology services in the country and is the only one to partner with Microsoft’s AI Network for AI-powered Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) Risk Score API. This technology helps physicians to predict the risk of CVDs at least 5 to 7 years in advance. Over and above this, the group has also launched a skill on Amazon Alexa to book appointments and to search for the nearest hospital & pharmacy using the voice assistant.
History & Rewards
Established in 1983 by Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Apollo Hospitals has earned its reputation in the private health care sector with time. The group has won several awards and honours for its pioneering work in the evolution of the health care sector in the country. To mention a few, the Government of India had issued a commemorative stamp in recognition of Apollo’s widespread contributions. In addition to this, a stamp was also released in 2014 to mark the 15th anniversary of India’s first successful liver transplant done at Apollo Hospitals. In 2019, Apollo Hospitals was honoured with a postal stamp for successfully performing 20 million health checks.
