Factors Affecting Stamp Duty Charges
There are several factors that affect the Stamp Duty charges in Delhi. These are:
- Property Location: The circle rate in Delhi for Residential plots (other than flats/apartments) is based on the Category of the area. For example, the circle rate in Category A area is higher than in Category B. Similarly, the circle rate in Category D area is higher than in Category G.
- Purpose: The stamp duty applicable on a commercial property is higher than on a residential property.
- Property Age: As the stamp duty is levied on the property value, old properties, due to having a low price, attract lower stamp duty than the comparatively new one.
