IDBI Credit Card Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for IDBI Bank credit card are:

Age – The applicants must fall between the age group of 21 to 60 years

• The upper limit for self-employed individuals can be up to 65 years
• The minimum age for add-on cards is 18 years

Citizenship – Only Indian Residents can apply for an IDBI Bank credit card.

Income – Both salaried and self-employed can apply for a credit card. The income requirement varies for different applicants based on their existing relationship with the bank, residence, etc. and is shared at the time of application.

Applicants will have to submit documents to establish identity, address and income proof. Following documents are accepted by the bank-

Proof of Identity	PAN card, Aadhaar card, Driver’s License, Passport, Voter’s ID, Overseas Citizen of India Card, Person of Indian Origin Card, Job card issued by NREGA, Letters issued by the UIDAI, etc.
Proof of Address	Aadhaar card, Driver’s License, Passport, Utility Bill not more than 3 month’s old, Ration Card, Property Registration Document, Person of Indian Origin Card, Job card issued by NREGA, Bank Account Statement, etc.
Proof of Income	Latest one or 2 salary slips (not more than 3 months old), Last 3 months’ bank statement, ITR, Form 16, etc.

Apart from the factors mentioned above, there are some other factors that directly impact customer’s eligibility for an IDBI Bank credit card.

Location – IDBI Bank provides credit cards to people located in certain cities. Also, the bank deems certain areas as ‘No Issue Zones’. So, customers whose address does not come in serviced areas won’t be able to procure a credit card.

Credit Report – Having a good credit history and a high credit score is important to avail a Credit Card by IDBI Bank. A CIBIL score of 750 or above reflects financial stability and lets the bank know that the customer can be trusted to repay their credit card bills.

Existing Relationship with the Bank – If you have a salary account or deposits with the bank, it may become relatively easier for you to get your credit card application approved.

Closing a credit card may only be a good option if its annual fee is really high and you rarely use it.  However, closing the card would reduce your credit utilization ratio, which in turn may negatively affect your credit score report. If the annual fee is nil or very low, you can keep it active.
