Kotak Mutual Fund (Kotak), one of the largest mutual fund houses in India, has submitted documents with SEBI, the Securities Exchange Board of India, regarding plans to launch the Kotak Fixed Maturity Plan (FMP) Series 198-207. This new Kotak FMP series would be a close-ended debt scheme featuring a new fund price of Rs. 10 per unit. The entry and exit load for this debt mutual fund is expected to be zero. As per available data, the scheme is expected to offer both dividend payout and growth options. As per the submission made by Kotak Mutual Fund, the minimum target for the scheme has been set at Rs. 20 crores.
The Kotak FMP Series 198 – 207 would be benchmarked to the CRISIL Liquid Fund Index if the schemes are launched for tenures ranging from 1 month to 3 months. Otherwise, if the scheme is launched for longer tenures ranging from 3 months to 36 months, the benchmark used would be the CRISIL Short Term Bond Fund Index, while for even longer tenures such 36 to 60 months the CRISIL Composite Bond Fund Index would be the benchmark option used. The minimum application amount for the new debt scheme from Kotak Mutual Fund is Rs. 5,000.
