With all the processes related to the Employee Provident Fund being online, UAN or Universal Account Number has become the only key to operate the online EPF portal. The introduction of UAN has made processes like PF withdrawal, checking PF balance, application for loan against PF, etc. very easy and feasible for individuals.
The UAN remains unchanged throughout the life of an employee. Upon switching jobs, employees shall have different member IDs related to different EPF accounts, assigned for every company. All these member IDs are ultimately linked to the same UAN of the employee. Given the importance, it can be critical if one loses the UAN and password. However, if you still forget or misplace your UAN password, here is how to regenerate it or do an EPFO password reset/UAN password change using the below steps.

Moreover, You will have to get your mobile number updated with Aadhaar for Validation and generation of OTP to change the password only. If I missed my old mobile number… And date of birth not working if m…fill it.. then what I do?
Hello Anita,
In most of the cases, the details of account holder such as mobile no. can be updated and verified online. However, your date of birth is linked to your Aadhaar Card. If your details are not matching, you can discuss the issue with your employer and verify your account details again or register your grievance at https://epfigms.gov.in/
