As per an NDTV.com article, the Cheque books of the State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, State Bank of Raipur, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Hyderabad and Bhartiya Mahila Bank now stand invalid. After the merger of these six banks with the State Bank of India (SBI) in April this year, SBI announced that the Cheque books of these erstwhile banks will be invalid after September 30th 2017.
The account holders of the said six banks will have to apply for new Cheque books with the SBI. Additionally, the IFSC codes of these erstwhile banks are also now invalid as all their bank branches are now State Bank of India’s branches.
Affected account holders can request new Cheque books by logging into their account online through internet banking or mobile banking or by visiting their bank’s ATM or their home branch.
