To open this account, an applicant has to meet the following prerequisites and fulfill the below-listed conditions as well:

Prerequisites:

• Mobile number of the account holder should be linked with the Aadhaar card using e-KYC.
• An applicant can open only one account using his/her e-KYC.

Conditions:

• An applicant needs to complete the process of KYC verification by visiting the nearest branch of the bank within 12 months from the date of e-KYC account opening. An applicant must carry all the documents while visiting the branch.
• No cheque book is issued under this scheme.

Being,  mobile-based this account can be operated through the Fedbook app. The mobile app facilitates individuals to open a savings account without stepping out to the branch. They can use their Permanent Account Number (PAN) card and Aadhaar card to initiate the account opening process.

Here are the steps you can follow to open an account:

Step 1: Visit ‘Play Store’ if you have an android smartphone and ‘App Store’ if you are an iPhone user and download the ‘Fedbook App’. It is also available for Windows platform and Blackberry touchscreen phones.

Step 2: Click on ‘Proceed with Selfie Account’ and open Fedbook Selfie Zero Balance Savings Account. Take a selfie, and scan your e-KYC documents.

Step :3 You will receive your account number real-time and Fedbook Selfie app will be your very digital passbook.

To register your number, you can log in to FedNet, the net banking facility of the Federal Bank and do it from there. Alternatively, you can do that by visiting the nearest Federal Bank branch.
