SBI Credit Card Application Status

You can check your SBI credit card application status online through the official website of the bank. All you need to do is visit the official website of SBI Card, i.e., www.sbicard.com. Under the ‘Track your application’ section, enter your application/ reference number as shown in the below image:

Then click on the ‘Track’ and the application status of your credit card will be shown on the screen.

However, if you do not have the application/ reference number, then you can also retrieve the same by following the below steps:

Visit the official website of SBI Card and select ‘Retrieve application’ under the ‘Track your application’ section as shown in the below image:

After this, enter your name and mobile number and click on ‘Retrieve’. Make sure you enter both the details correctly. Once you do, the page will show your application/ reference number which you can use to check your SBI credit card application status.

Keep the application/ reference number handy with you as the customer care representative will ask the same for checking your application status.

SBI Card shows five different application status results to its users. Here are the details regarding the same:

1. In-progress: This means that your application is under process and the bank will take a few more days to dispatch your SBI credit card
2. On-hold: If your application is on-hold, it means that the bank might need some extra documents for verification. It is likely that a representative from the bank will call you regarding the same. However, you can always call on SBI credit card customer care number to know why your application is on-hold.
3. Approved: This means that your application has been approved by SBI Card and your card will be dispatched soon
4. Dispatched: This means that your SBI credit card has been dispatched and it will deliver to your address soon. You will also get a message from the bank with the Airway Bill Number which you can use to track the status of the courier.
5. Disapproved: In case eligibility criteria is not fulfilled, the bank will disapprove the card. Applicants can call SBI customer care and find out the reason for disapproval. As per the SBI norm, the applicant has to wait for at least three months before re-applying.

Q. What is the process of applying for an SBI Card?

A. You can apply for any of the SBI credit cards through both online and offline modes. To apply online, you can visit the official website of SBI Card to fill out the application form. If you want to apply offline, then you can visit the nearest branch of the bank.

Q. Why did SBI Card rejected my credit card request?

A. There could be various reasons for the rejection of your credit card application. Some of them are as follows:

• It could be that the credit card you applied for requires you to be in a higher income bracket
• A poor CIBIL score could be another reason. CIBIL score or credit score gauges your credit worthiness, it uses a complex algorithm that takes your loan amount, time period for payments, number of times credit card is applied for, etc., to calculate the final score

Q. Can I apply for an add-on credit card on my SBI Card?

A. Once your SBI credit card has been approved by the bank meaning your SBI credit card application reads dispatched you can apply for an add-on card. Do note that the credit limit on the add-on card remains the same as on the first card.

Q. How long does it take for my new SBI credit card to arrive?

A. The whole process from your application to you receiving the credit card takes about 20-30 days, considering your SBI credit card application request was not hampered and disapproved.

Q. How do I know if my SBI credit card application is approved?

A. The bank will send you an SMS stating that your credit card application is approved after the successful verification. Apart from this, you can also track your application status through the official website of SBI Card.
