How to apply online?

To apply for an SBI card online, follow the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1: Log into your internet banking.

Step 2: Click on ATM card services under the e-services tab.

Step 3: Click on request ATM/ debit card.

Step 4: Select the card you wish to apply for.

How to apply offline?

You can call on the SBI customer care number on 1800 425 3800/ 1800 11 2211/ 080-26599990​​ and ask the representative about the application process. Apart from this, you can also visit an SBI branch and submit a duly filled application form to apply for a new debit card.

Another way to apply for an SBI debit card online is to send an email requesting a new debit card. The email must be sent at contactcentre@sbi.co.in.

After getting your SBI Paywave International Debit Card, you are required to activate the card to use it for online and offline purchases. To activate your debit card, you can visit your nearest SBI ATM to generate a pin offline. After swiping your card at the ATM machine you will be asked to enter an OTP sent on your registered mobile number. This OTP is valid for 2 days and can be used to generate a new debit card pin using any SBI ATM.

You can also activate your debit card online by using SBI net banking and YONO mobile app. You can also call SBI customer care to assist you in generating the debit card pin.

I don’t have an account with the bank. Can I apply for SBI Paywave International Debit Card?
No, to avail any of the SBI debit cards, it is must to have a savings or current account. The bank issues a debit card against your bank account and it is directly connected with your account. This basically means, whenever you make a transaction, the amount will be deducted from your linked bank account.

How can I redeem the reward points earned via SBI Paywave International Debit Card?
You can redeem the earned reward points via both offline and online modes. To redeem your reward points online, you can visit the SBI Card portal and redeem your reward points under the ‘Rewards’ section. Apart from this, you can also redeem the reward points via mobile app. The bank also allows this facility where you can call on the customer care and ask the representative about the application process.

How can I block my SBI Paywave International Debit Card?
You can block your SBI debit card by logging in to your net banking account, select the card you want to block and choose the account to which the card is linked. After entering the details, you are required to verify the details by entering the OTP received on your registered mobile number. After successful verification, your debit card will be blocked.

Can I convert my transactions done via SBI Paywave International Debit Card into EMI?
Yes, you can convert your debit card purchases into EMIs. To avail this facility at the time of purchase, you must check whether the vendor is offering SBI debit card EMI facility or not. If you want to avail this facility offline, you can call on the customer care and ask the representative to convert the selected purchase into EMI.

How does SBI Paywave International Debit Card work?
SBI Paywave International Debit Card is a contactless card that allows you to make transactions just by tapping it at the POS machine. However, this facility is available only on your transactions of up to Rs. 2,000. For transactions beyond Rs. 2,000, you are required to swipe your card at the POS machine and enter the OTP sent on your registered mobile number.

Are there any additional charges for activating the SBI Paywave International Debit Card?
No, you can activate your debit card by visiting any of the nearest SBI ATM. The bank does not incur any charges for the online and offline transactions. However, this debit card comes with an annual fee of Rs. 175, which you are liable to pay even if you don’t use the card.
