Q2. Does an individual need to create separate ‘My Policy’ account for every policy?
Ans. No. With one customer ID, an individual can enroll for multiple policies. Customer ID will be the same for each of the insurance policy belonging to the similar life assured.
Q3. I have forgotten my login ID and/or password. What to do now?
Ans. If this happens, recovering the credentials is quite easy with SBI Life. A policy owner will have to enter his/her <Policy Number><Date of Birth> and choose the customer ID or hit questions. The insured will get the ‘Login ID’ on the registered email ID.
For passwords, simply click on ‘Forget Password’. Now, provide your name (login name), customer ID or the hint questions. Once you are done with this, you will get an email with the ‘Reset Password Link’ sent to your registered mail ID. Open you inbox, find the mail and click on that link. It will redirect you to a page that will reset your password and ask you to create a new one.
Q4. Can I or someone else (family member or friend) pay premium of a lapsed policy?
Ans. No. For in-force monthly policies, premium payment is accepted within 11 days only. For non-monthly policies, it is 25 days. If an insurance policy has already lapsed, then the policyholder needs to visit the nearest branch office of SBI Life to activate it.
Q5. What is the meaning of ‘Top-Up’ premium?
Ans. An additional amount that a policyholder pays over and above the actual premium to gain more from the performing market is called Top-Up Premium. It can only be done under the ULIPs. The top-up amount paid by the insured later invested in their preferred funds.
Q6. How to pay the top-up premium?
Ans. To pay the top-up premium, an insured has to visit their nearest SBI Life branch office and submit the top-up cheque with the ‘Top-Up Allocation’ form (top-up premium challan or renewal premium). A policyholder can obtain these from their branch office. However, the acceptance of the ‘Top-Up Allocation’ request would be a subject to the policy and its features.
Q7. How to correct incorrect/wrong name of the nominee and relationship under an insurance policy?
Ans. In case of a typing error, simply write and send a complaint to SBI Life. However, before writing to SBI Life, the policy owner may also refer to the proposal form’s copy and attached policy documents. These will be needed to verify the details of the nominee. In case there is a mistake in the proposal form, the policyholder needs to submit the below-listed documents to their nearby SBI Life branch office:
- A request to make changes in policy details
- Proof of the beneficiary/nominee:
- PAN card
- Passport
- School certificate
- Birth certificate

Q8. How to update address and PAN card details under the policy?
Ans. To update the address, the policyholder needs to login to their My Policy Account> Transact Online > Change of Address > and then follow the steps to complete the process. One point is to consider here is that the address proof should be in JPE or PDF format and not more than 400 KB in size.
For PAN card details, again login to your My Policy Account > Profile Related > Update PAN Number > and that is it. One can also send an SMS from their registered mobile number in the following format to update their PAN card details:
