The claims procedure under Diabetes Safe Insurance Policy is as follows:

- In a scenario when hospitalization is planned, intimate the insurance company 24 hours prior to admission
- In a scenario when hospitalization is done under an emergency, intimation about the treatment should be send to the insurance company
- All network hospitals are equipped with Cashless Facility provided the insured is admitted in the network hospital
- In non-network hospitals, the payment needs to be made up front and submission of documents will be initiated to avail the reimbursement facility

- Discharge summary in original documents from the hospital
- Cash receipts of hospitals and chemists in original format
- Reports of tests conducted along with their cash receipts
- In case of a road traffic accident, first report incident needs to be submitted
- Death certificate (In case of Accidental Death Claims)
Cashless Treatment
The ID card needs to be submitted to the hospital desk along with the pre-authorization form. If all the details are legally binding, the company will process the request under the terms and conditions of the policy clause.
Cases Where One Can’t Claim This Plan
The insurance company is not liable to pay if the claim arises because of the following:
- All intentional self-injuries
- Allopathic treatments
- Use of intoxicating substances is also excluded under this policy
- Any claims which may have arisen from any accident related to pregnancy or childbirth
How Long Does It Take To Pay Out A Claim Settlement?
All claim procedures need to be intimated within 24 hours of the hospitalization process and within 30 days all claims documents need to be submitted to the company. After receiving all the documents, the insurance company will settle the claim within 30 days from the discharge date.

Under this policy, lifelong renewals are possible. The policyholder needs to make sure he pays for the policy before the due date of the policy to prevent it from being lapsed. The insurance company further provides the grace period of 30 days to the insured where one can make the payment.
